Happy first day of summer vacation. Many of you have asked for information about performing community service volunteer hours. Here is a list of places/activities you may participate in to get credit for service: schools, day cares, medical facilities, nursing homes, libraries, parks, charity programs/walks, sports programs, and churches. If you are thinking of one not listed here, please check with me FIRST for approval. Wherever and whatever you do, make sure you keep track of your hours. They will accumulate all year long and I will ask you to provide the documentation for hours worked in April 2016. I am providing a link with a form you can download and print whenever necessary to record your volunteer service. You may start now and do whatever you can. There is no minimum or maximum. Volunteering is something you do because it comes from the heart. If you have any questions or need further explanation, please contact me via text message. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character and Citizenship.
